Recent studies of tests in blind rats have shown that human cells have been able to restore their vision enough to be able to see again.

According to a team at the University College London, similar results in humans could help to improve their quality of life, although it would not be enough to actually give them the necessary vision to be able to read properly.

There are various experimental techniques being carried out in this field but it is not clear which ones will actually be used when it comes to conducting human trials.
